Ladies and Gentlemen, we proudly present the Grand Finale event of our premier racing league! This week will conclude the first season of the EZMU Forza Motorsport 3 Racing League with a final race event on Thursday. We are very proud of our drivers who will have faithfully competed in a total of 9 race events over the past 5 weeks. This Thursday our drivers will find themselves in a test of endurance on the Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit, driving the above R3 class Hyundia Genesis purpose built race vehicle featured above. It was specifically chosen for its durable, high level performance and its glorious EZMU color scheme. Here is a graph of everyone’s current standings to help visualize what our drivers are up against:

EZMU Racing Current Standings

Last week we loosened up our vehicle restrictions and allowed for 3 different cars to be driven in the same race (The “Modern American Muscle” challenge). And this week we have one more challenge to undertake, a true endurance race. It seems only proper to set the final race as an endurance event to close this baby out with a bang! So we have a single track at 25 laps which will reward 200 points to the first place finisher. This race will test our drivers’ concentration, strategy, and dogged determination for one last epic showdown. This will be the longest race of the season coming in at an estimated 45+ minute range which can be a practical eternity on a competitive racetrack.

An endurance race like this is an entirely different beast than our usual races and will require appropriate long term strategies. Pit strategies will most likely be required for success in this week’s event. If the EZMU drivers really want to come prepared, they will need to plan ahead on what lap they will pit (and a plan b just in case their car gets damaged requiring a premature pit). In longer races like this, it’s sometimes better to wait until later to pit so that tires will be in good shape for the last few laps so cars can really be pushed to their limits. But pitting too late will cause a driver to not recover their position after leaving for the pit.

And the trailing drivers still have a chance to improve their placement in the lineup because anything can happen in an endurance race like this. There could be a serious crash that takes out some of the top tier drivers and leaves an opportunity for someone to rake in some serious points. Remember, slow and steady wins the race. It really pays to drive defensively and avoid damage in a long race like this. Also, since this is the first time we have raced the R class, drafting will play a more significant role in this event than any before it. Xenocide (with 397 season points) comes into the final event with a sizeable 72 point lead followed by kanster09 (325 season points) and Oatmeal (299 season points). There is a 98 point spread among the top 3 drivers.

The driver that emerges above the rest will find themselves the recipient of any video game of their choice on any system. Not a bad reward for 5 weeks of friendly fun competition eh?

kudos to Gunhaver for being a great race commissioner. These races were a lot of fun. The season started with lots of spinning and crashes and is finishing with some really solid racing.
