Race Theme = JAPAN!

Season1 Week3

Greetings motorsport enthusiasts! I present to you a belated Thanksgiving holiday edition of last week’s EZMU race results. This past week saw some shakeups in the trailing 4th – 9th season positions as gunhaver continues to cope with injury and RobTurboGA continues an upward ranking trend in his stead. But the biggest surprises of the week came as Xenocide not only experienced his first race absent from the 1st place podium, but two consecutive races to none other than our own kangster09! You could say that this week was undoubtedly The Week of Kanster.

The theme of the week was Japan as the league drivers all took to the road driving 2002 Nissan Skyline GT-Rs, and their first stop was the west Circuit of Japan’s famous Suzuka track. Things got ugly leading into the nasty 90 degree angle of turn 2 on the very first lap leaving several drivers limping around the track for the remainder of the race. Still, it was a typical EZMU finish with Xenocide taking the win closely followed by RobTurbGA and Oatmeal25. Unfortunately, Suzuka West was quite a sloppy opener for last week’s race night as the wreck on lap 1 was not the only pileup. I’m not sure whether to blame our choice to include 3 tracks for one night (the most yet) or the release of Modern Warfare 2 on the drivers apparent lack of preparation :) . Next week there will only be two tracks.

Fujimi Kaido and the Maple Valley Raceway marked a stark turn of events as kanster09 managed two consecutive wins over the season leader Xenocide. It was an uphill battle as kangster started out Fujimi in 4th place due to his qualification and placement on Suzuka. But as they say, “slow and steady wins the race” and that’s the exact tactics that he employed over his somewhat overeager competitors who bumped and slid their way through the treacherous roads of the Fujimi point to point course. There are no changes in the top 3 season placements due to Xenocide’s previous healthy lead but scores on the top three are remaining fairly tight. kanster09 prevents Xenocide from pulling farther ahead in season points to preserve the 52 point spread of the top 3 from last week.

The EZMU Racing League Drivers are taking Thanksgiving off but tune in next week as we travel to more familiar territory: America! (And some classic all American rides as well)
